10/4-American Cancer Society Relay for Life Planning Committee Meeting held at 7 PM at the Monaghan Presbyterian Church

10/5-NYCHAPS is holding an event called First Friday. DABA will sponsor event on October 5th, event is from 7 - 10pm. Admission is $10.00 Must be 21 or older. Period Garb is optional! Contact Joanne for more info. 432-2720.

10/6-York County Solid Waste Authority will hold a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program on Saturday, October 6 from 9 AM to 1 PM at the York County Solida Waste Authority Management Center. Household hazardous waste includes any products from the home that are corrosive (drain cleaners/bleach), flammable (gasoline), reactive (chemistry kits) or toxic (pesticides). All Yorl County homeowners or residential tenants are eligible to bring their household hazardous waste to the collecction site. COMMERCIAL ENTITIES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE. There is no fee to participate. Examples of items accepted include: thermometers containing mercury, liquid mercury, auto products (transmission and brake fluids, anitfreeze, batteries), pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, flourescent light bulbs, gasoline, kerosene, rechargeable batteries, photographic and pool chemicals, driveway sealants, and household cleaners (oven, drain, etc.). PLEASE DO NOT BRING: latex or oil-based paint, alkaline batteries, aerosal cans, explosives, ammunition, propane tanks, or used motor oil. For a listing of York County Collection Centers accepting used motor oil for recycling, call the Authority at 717-845-1066. Directions: 2700 Blackbridge Road; from Route 30, turn north onto Toronita Street (you will see Round the Clock Diner at this intersection). Proceed approximately 1.5 miles. The Management Center will be on your right. 10/11-American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team Captain Kick Off Rally held at 7 PM at the Northern Middle School Cafeteria.

10/13-Electronics Collection Event will be held on Saturday, October 13 at the Eastern York High School, 720 Cool Creek Rd., in Wrightsville, PA 17368 in the parking lot from 9:00AM until noon. The fees are $2 for a monitor, $1 for a CPU or printer, $20 for TV's and $2 for Stereo's. There is no limit and corporations are welcome. 10/17-Farmers' Fair Queen Pageant held at the Northern High School at 8 PM. Tickets $3.00 and may be purchased at the Blossom Shop (43 S Baltimore St, Dillsburg) from October 1-16. NO TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR

10/19-Farmers' Fair Events: The activities start early on Friday, October 19th. There will be a Fun Day For Kids at the Dillsburg Elementary School from 10 AM - 1 PM. A Beef Cattle Display will take place at the Athletic Field from 1 PM - 4 PM. The Children's Parade will take place at 7 PM.

10/20-Farmers' Fair Events: The activities on Saturday, October 20th, will include a Flea Market, Craft Fair, Antique Tractor Display, Beef Cattle Display, and Ye Old Pickle Flinge to name a few. The Fantastic Parade will begin at 8 PM. 10/25-U.S. Army War College Research Professor Stephen C. Pelletiere will speak at the Dillsburg Area Public Library at 7PM. Dr. Pelletiere will present his newest book "Losing Iraq".

10/26 & 10/27-Wellsville has announced its 2nd Annual Fall Parade! The parade will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2 PM, however, the activities start on October 26th with Trick or Treat from 6-7pm. There will be a bonfire with hot dogs and cider in the park from 6:30-8pm. Breakfast will be served from 7-9 AM at tge Wellsville Firehall. Activities begin at 8am on Saturday, October 27th with a craft fair and an open air flea market to name a few. From 10 Am to 2 PM, adults and children can participate in scarecrow making, games, and even a petting zoo outside the Wellsville Firehall. Everyone is invited to participate in the events and the parade! Contact the Wellsville Borough Office at 432-3395 or Christian LaRue at 503-3706 for more information. It is sure to be fun for ages. Children are invited to enter their carved pumpkins into The Great Pumpkin Carving Contest, pumpkins should be carved at home and then dropped off at the Borough PArk beginning a 6 PM. The contest is open to all ages and there is no entry fee.

10/26 Youth Game & Activity Night Halloween Party held at the Sports & Learning Center from 6-9 PM for all students in 2nd - 5th grades in the NYCSD. Home schooled or privately schooled students art welcome to attend. Admission is $6.00 (includes snacks, pizza, and 1 free soda) additional sodas and snacks are available for purchase. Wear a costume!!!! Parents: please use discretion when choosing a costume. This event is being sponsored by the Northern York Community Services Foundation (NYCSF).

10/31 Trick-or-Treat Night in the Dillsburg Borough from 6-8 PM
