Gisela McBride provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about history from someone who grew up in Berlin Germany before and during Hitler's Reign. Ms. McBride shares her experiences with home life, school, radio broadcasts, air raids and bomb shelters. She also discusses the facts of Adolph Hitler's blueprint to mold young girls into Nazi ideal of womanhood. This is to be an educational and spellbinding lecture and power point presentation. 12/13 - Girls Basketball Breakfast with Santa - The Northern Girls Basketball team will be holding their first annual all you can eat Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 13th at the Northern York County High School Cafeteria in Dillsburg. The breakfast will run from 7:00 am till 11:00 am. The menu will consist of Pancakes, Sausage, eggs, toast, juice and coffee. Bring the kids out to visit with Santa. There will also be a silent auction for themed gift baskets. This will be a great opportunity to buy Christmas presents and help support the team. Tickets are $4.00 in advance or $5.00 at the door. 12/13 - Cookie, Candy, Nut and Craft Sale  Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, will host it’s annual cookie, candy, nut and craft sale on December 13, 2008 from 9am – 1pm. There will be a wonderful selection of holiday cookies, candy and crafts. Cashews will be sold at $9/lb and peanuts will be sold at $4/lb. Half pound packs will also be available for purchase. 12/20 - Northern York Community Services, Inc (NYCS) is sponsoring a One-day bus trip to NYC. Explore NYC at your leisure. Experience big city lights, beautiful Christmas trees, and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Pick-up time is 6am at the Northern High School and the return time is approximately 11pm at the Northern High School. The bus will drop of in NYC at the Theatre District. The cost is $65 per person. 12/31 - Pickle Drop 2009 - Downtown Dillsburg. Festivities start at 9 PM and run until 12:30 AM. Activities include: Bingo, DJ spinning the tunes, Pickle Paraphernalia, Food including pickle soup and deep fried pickles, Street Volleyball with big green balloons, Magic Act at 10:30 PM and Mr. Pickle descending into the Pickle Barrel marking the start of 2009 followed by the Firework Display.
