3/2 - Silent Auction/Soup Sale - In conjunction with Invite a Friend Sunday, Mt. Airy United Methodist Church, 2020 Pinetown Road, Wellsville, will hold a silent auction and soup sale on Sunday, March 2, 2008, from noon until 2:00 p.m. There will be ham and bean, chicken corn and beef vegetable soup available for purchase by the bowl to eat there or by the quart to go. For dessert you might like to create your own ice cream sundae.  In addition, there will be a number of items to bid on for the silent auction.  All proceeds will benefit the church building fund.

3/6 - MAKE MINE MARVEL, or “How Comics Are Made at Marvel” by Dave Sharpe, Marvel artist and executive now telecommuting from New Cumberland to New York City.  He was with Marvel in NYC for 14 years after graduating from the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Arts in Dover, New Jersey. This event is held at the Dillsburg Public Library at 7PM.

3/6 - DILLSBURG RELAY FOR LIFE Planning Committee Meeting at 7:00 p.m. at Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Dillsburg. Call Winnie Wentz at 432-2680 for more information.

3/9 - SPIRIT FEST AT MONAGHAN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH - Who isn't moved by the sound of inspirational music, by the sight of beautiful, flowing dance?  For the SPIRIT FEST AT MONAGHAN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH,  185 GETTYSBURG PIKE,  on Sunday March 9 at 7 p.m., the speaker will once again be Lynn Bennett from Christian Life Assembly. Lynn presented her flag ministry last year and gave an abbreviated testimony of her changed life.  This service is also appropriate for young children who are interested in dance or who currently involved in dance.  Lynn is spiritually refreshed and motivated by her changed life and it is beautifully expressed through her dancing, the music and flags.  This is a contemporary, casual service of music and all are welcomed to bring family and friends.

3/11 - GFWC DILLSBURG WOMAN’S CLUB ANNOUNCES SPEAKER - Sherry Christiansen, Agency Manager and Veronica Malone, Director, of Visiting Angels In Home Care will speak to the GFWC Dillsburg Woman’s Club members when the club meets on Tuesday, March 11, 7:00 pm at the Senior Activity Center, located at 1 North 2nd Street, Dillsburg.  Lori Shughart will present an inspirational message.  Refreshments will be served by Hospitality Chairman Clea Hoffman and committee members Christine Curran, Arlene Harlacher and Lori Shughart.  A business meeting will wrap up the evening.  All women 18 years of age and older are invited to attend.  Need more information?  Contact Pam at 432-3224.

3/11 Dillsburg Relay For Life - Team Captain Meeting, Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. at Dillsburg Elementary School.

3/15 - Dillsburg Brass will present a concert at the Historic Monaghan Church (located on Church Street, in back of the Dillsburg Post Office). This concert will be for the benefit of the Dillsburg Relay For Life, which is scheduled for June 20 and 21, at Northern High School's Bostic Field. The concert will present a mix of classical, jazz, show and popular music, something for everyone's listening pleasure. This award winning group, comprised of musicians that have played together since high school (all Northern Graduates) has been together for over 20 years. This plans to be a very "special" evening of music that will benefit a great cause, The American Cancer Society, Relay For Life. The concert is being sponsored by the Monaghan Presbyterian Church Relay Team and the Dillsburg Area Revitalization Committee. Mark your calendars now and please plan to attend.

3/15 -Franklintown U.B.Youth Group invites you to a…..BREAKFAST BUFFET ...All you can eat!! Saturday, March 15th, 2008 at Franklintown United Brethren Church from 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Menu includes: Pancakes, sausage, eggs, toast, coffee and juice.  Cost is by donation.

3/17 - The Dillsburg Area Kiwanis Club announces that Dr. John Spurrier will be the guest speaker at the March 17th meeting.  Dr. Spurrier will relate his experiences of living in the African country of Zambia while working as a physician at a 208 bed hospital.  He and his wife, Ester, have lived in Zambia for 18 of the past 32 years. When they are not in Zambia, they make their home in the Dillsburg area. Dillsburg Kiwanis meetings are held at 7:00 a.m. at the Brothers Restaurant on Rt. 15 N.

3/19 - The Student Center and NYCSF are offering a SUPPORT GROUP for Families & Friends of Military Personnel being held at the Franklintown Fire Hall, 107 S. Baltimore Street, Franklintown, PA 17323.  The group will meet every 3rd Wednesday of every month starting March 19, 2008. Time is from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.  This support group is an opportunity to share the anxieties and issues that arise at home when a family member or friend is serving in the Armed Forces.  For more information, call Michelle at 432-2079 Sponsored by NYCSF.

3/22 - Dillsburg Borough Office Closed - The Dillsburg Borough Office will be closed on Friday, March 21, 2008 in observance of Good Friday. We will open again on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. Please call 432-9969 with any questions.  

3/27 -  Proposed Transportation Plans - Public Input Opportunity:   There will be a Public Meeting to address the proposed Transportation Plans for Northern York County on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at South Mountain Elementary.  A presentation will be given by Will Clark, York County Planning Commission.
