11/03 - Cool Pools-South Mountains Vanishing Treasurers. Please join us for a free vernal pond power point presentation by NAture Conservancy Volunteer Shirley Stark on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 7-8 pm at the Dillsburg Area Public Library, 17 S. 11/06 - Zumba Fitness at Citizens' Hose Fire Co, 109 S Baltimore St, Dillsburg from 10 am to 12 pm. Join instructors Andee Grosnick and Pamra Bowser for the best Saturday morning party there is. It's a party in purple Zumbathon to benefit the Dillsburg Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. So break out your purple workout clothes and don't miss all the fun. Raffles, door prizes and Games!!! No dance experience needed but a fun attitude is a must. Registration Fee: $10 - class only; $20 class plus tank top. Register early. Space is limited. 11/08 - The GFWC Dillsburg Woman's club will meet at the Senior Center on North Second Street at 7 pm. Kay Straw ans Melissa Holt will present a program on Special Olymoics in Pennsylvania. Come and enjoy the program and refreshments. If you are interested in Community Service come and learn about our club. Call 717-795-7041 if you would like more information.

CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!!!11/9, 11/11, 11/16, 11/18, 11/20- CERT Training will be held at the Hope United Brethren Church, 110 Old York Road, Dillsburg. The training covers nine topics: Disaster Preparedness, fire Suppression, Medical Operations I & II, Light Search and Rescue, Disaster Psychology, Animals and Disaster, Terrorism Awareness and Traffic Control. These topics are taught by local instructors in emergency services. The purpose of this training is to have local citizenry trained to respond to a disaster in their neighborhood until the professionals can arrive and then supplement their services, if needed. The training is open to any person 15 years of age or older at no cost and a backpack of equipment is given worth approximately $125 upon completion of the course. The training requires about 15 hours of classroom and hands-on training. Please call Tim Hildebrand to enroll or with any questions at 717-502-8720.

11/10 - Strategic Air Command Pilot To Highlight Veterans Program - Northern High School’s social studies department will host a free breakfast for area veterans Wednesday, November 10, at 8 a.m. in the high school cafeteria. Following the breakfast, Lieutenant Colonel James A. Brandenburg will present a program in the high school auditorium. Brandenburg is a former Commander 17th Special Operations Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan with over 3,600 hours in B-52 and C-130 aircraft and has served various assignments under Strategic Air Command. Most recently he commanded the 9th Expeditionary Special Operations Squadron in Iraq. Interested veterans may sign up at the Dillsburg American Legion, V.F.W., or by calling the high school at 432-8694 Ext. 2213.

11/13 - Christ Lutheran Church of Dillsburg presents the 2nd Annual Fall Music Concet to benefit New Hope Ministries at 7:30 PM. The concert will be held at Hostetter Chapel at Messiah College, Grantham, PA. The concert will feature the Dillsburg Brass and Union Barbershop Quartet. The selections will be both secular and sacred and will invole all ages. For more information, call 697-9302 or email Carole Knosely at cknisely3@comcast.net. Light refreshments will be served after the program. Please come, be grateful, bring your friends. Donations received (monetary and nion-parishable food items) will benefit Dillsburg New Hope Ministries.

11/20 - NYCHAPS presents a Comedy Dinner featuring Sonya King at the Maple Shade BArn, 35 Greenbrier Land, Dillsburg. Dinner is being served at 6:00 pm; 45 minute show following. The cost is only $20 per person. Advance tickets only/limited seating. Reserved seating available for tables of six. The proceeds from this events benefits historic Maple Shade BArn renovations to add a Research Library and the exhibits where you will send guests after becoming exhausted from cooking and cleaning for them. The dinner consist of Seafood Pasta Au Gratin, Ham, Mt Wharton Chicken Roasted Red Potatoes, Rice, Carrots Elegante.
