Information Details: 10/02, 10/09 - Dillsburg Farmers Market, Saturdays 7-12, The Market will run every Saturday from 7:00 AM until Noon thru October.
The location for the Market is in the parking lot for Springhouse Artisans and Antiques, 117 North Baltimore Street. It will feature fruit and produce ( not chemically fertilized), baked goods and quality crafts/ artwork.
All the items featured will be locally produced and help support local farms and businesses. 10/02 - Northern Boys Lacrosse Booster Club is sponsoring a chicken BBQ and Bake from 11 am to 2 pm. Rain or Shine. Cost is $7.00 and dinner includes 1/2 chicken, baked potato, and applesauce. Pre-orders are not needed, but appreciated. You may contact Kelley Thomas at 432-4534 to pre-order. Pick up location is Corner of Rt 15 and Harrisburg Street (Mountain Road Intersection). 10/05 - The GFWC Dillsburg Woman's Club will meet at Connie Hearn's home for their monthly board meeting at 7:00 PM. 10/12 - The GFWC Dillsburg Woman's Club's General meeting will be at 7:00 pm. Visitors are welcome to the General Meeting. Come and join the fun and refreshements. Call 795-7041 for more information. 10/16 - Polar Bear 5K Run - The Northern York County High School Cross-Country Booster Club is planning the run over Farmers' Fair Weekend. The course will begin at the Northern Elementary School, exiting Northern High School parking lot, North on Route 74 to Hanover Street, West to Second Street, South to Franklin Street, East to Butler Street, Southeast to Route 74, South back to high school, through tunnel and finishing on the track. Anyone who comes i their DASC jersey will receive a free scoop and/or discounts. 10/23 - Wellsville 5th Annual Fall Festival & Parade - The Wellsville Borough Parade Committee is pleased to announce they have selected Saturday October 23, 2010 as the official date of the 5th Annual Wellsville Fall Festival and Parade. The official start of the parade will be at 1 pm however rain or shine Wellsville will be THE place to be beginning early in the morning with various activities for all ages to enjoy. Please note there is no rain date for this parade. In case of inclement weather a decision to cancel or hold the parade will be made by 10am and the information will be recorded on the Wellsville Borough Voice Mail. 10/23 - DASC Day at Messiah College will be held on Saturday, October 23rd. The ladies Soccer game will begin at 5pm and the men's game will begin at 7:30pm. Several of our DASC teams will be participating in half time scrimmages during both games as well as ball girls/boys during the games. We will also be having a Used equipment drive. Beginning Saturday at 7am the Wellsville fire hall will open their doors for an all you can eat Pancake Breakfast. 8am will mark the opening of Grace United Methodist Church annual craft fair as well as the Flea Market at the Wellsville fire hall. Flea Market Vendors will be selling their goods both inside and outside this year! Spaces are still available! 10x12 foot space inside just $15.00 or 10x12 foot space outside just $10. These popular actives will begin around 10am on the grounds of the fire hall. Be sure to bring your camera you won’t want to miss this fun! All persons and groups are cordially invited to be part of this year's parade! Registration forms are available at the Wellsville Borough Office. Children & Families, Floats, Antique Cars, Tractors, wagons, school bands and area musicians, you name it, are all welcome and encouraged to participate! Last minute entries are always welcome! Prizes will be awarded to the Best Band, Float and Marching Group. The top four walking Individuals will also be awarded prizes! Plus this year be sure to catch the judges eye, a new Category has been added called Judges Choice! Food vendors are still needed for this year’s festival. Food Vendors will be set up throughout town. Local civic and community groups are invited to participate. Grab your cooks and bakers and help raise money for your cause! Entries are gladly accepted the day of the parade. Registration will be held inside the fire hall beginning at 11:30 through 12:30 pm. Be prompt as registration will close at 12:30. The parade will line up in the alley behind the former Lynn’s Market and proceed up Carroll Street to Route 74 ending at Fickes Road. The auction is being held at the Dillsburg Fire Station Community Hall, 109 S. Baltimore St. Hall entrance and additional parking located around back on Dill Alley. Entrance fee and first paddle is $3; additional paddles for $1 each. Bid on items from vendors such as Tastefully Simple, The Pampered Chef, Avon, Passion Parties and more. Food and beverages available for sale. Proceeds benefit Dillsburg fire. A limited supply of $10 rolls of quarters will be available for sale if you run out. The Carroll Township Management Agency (EMA) is hosting a seminar for area businesses and residents on the use of emergency generators during a man-made and natural disasters. In the post 9/11 and KAtrina era, the United States infrastructure is constantly under attack from terrorists. computer hackers and natural disaster which can disrupt the nation's power grid. Such events would bring the United States to a standstill and would affect both national and local commerce, public health, police and fire protection. Our goal os to educate and provide viable solutions for businesses and residents during power outages. Experts will be on-hand to answer questions. Come hear two generator specialist and an electrician share their information on this vital piece of equipment. There is no charge for this program. 10/28 - Trick-or-Treak in the Dillsburg Borough from 6-8 pm.
