08/02 - National Night Out - Carroll Township Police Department is sponsoring their National Night Out Event at Logan Park from 5-9 pm. Carroll Township Police are askign residents to brign a non-perishable food item along for New Hope Ministries, which will be collecting for their food bank.

Dillsburg Farmers Market, Saturdays 7-12, Parking lot of Spring house Artisan and Antiques, 117 N Baltimore St., Dillsburg. The Market will run every Saturday and contine through October from 7:00 AM until Noon. It will feature fruit and produce ( not chemically fertilized), baked goods and quality crafts/ artwork.Anyone needing additional information or interested in being a vendor should contact Yvonne at 571-2126.

08/13 - WWII Day at Dill's Tavern - Join us for a day of WWII re-enactors, classic cars, 40's cuisine at Dill's Tavern. This will be followed by this years's performance of the Will Fisher Orchestra (7-10 PM). The daytime activites are Free. The evening concert is $15 and tickets are on sale at the Book House at the Village Shops (11 N US 15 #5), the Blossom Shop (43 S Baltimore St), Herr's Antiques on (N Second St), Maple Shade Barn ans all NYCHAPS events.

08/20 - Northern High School Alumni Association is sponsoring a trip to Annapolis Naval Academy & and Harbor Queen Cruise on Saturday, August 20, 2011.  Depart 7:30 am from Northern Middle School parking lot and return at approximately 7:30 pm.  Your day in Annapolis will begin when you meet your guide and begin a leisurely walking tour of this beautiful campus.  Founded in 1845, the United States Naval Academy is home to 4,000 of our country's future naval leaders.  As you tour the campus you will experience the sense of Naval tradition and heritage everywhere.  We will visit the Naval Chapel*, the Crypt of John Paul Jones*, and Bancroft Hall*.  During the academic year, you may view Noon meal formation of the midshipmen, weather and schedule permitting. (*Interior when available).  NOTE: Security requires everyone to have a valid Photo ID for this trip (driver’s license or passport). You will have two (2) hours of free time to explore the town of Annapolis and lunch on your own will be allotted after your tour of the Naval Academy. Next, you will take the short walk to the dock and board the Harbor Queen for your Cruise-tour.  View historic Annapolis Harbor, the banks of the Academy and the scenic Severn River and catch a glimpse of the Bay Bridge.  A dinner stop on your own will be made en route home.
