12/02 - Light Up Night in Downtown Dillsburg beginning at 7:00 pm. There will be a special visit by Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus, Northern High School "Bear Singers" to perform, Dillsburg Brass to perform in the library, Christmas tree lighting by the Mayor of Dillsburg and snacks and refreshments in the library.

12/03 - FREE Community Advent Music Festival!   Please join us for a wonderful evening of Christmas music on Saturday, December 3 at 7:30pm hosted by Monaghan Presbyterian Church, 1185 Gettysburg Pike, Dillsburg.  This is a joyful candle light music festival celebrating the Christmas story through new and old favorite songs of the season performed by the Dillsburg Brass, the Monaghan Singers and the Monaghan Hand Bell Ringers. This concert will put the Spirit of Christmas in the hearts and minds of all who attend.  All are welcome to celebrate the beginning of the Advent season and enjoy the splendor of Christmas music.  Light refreshments will be served immediately after the concert and admission is free.  For further information, please contact the church at (717) 432-4234 or at monaghan@monaghanpresby.org.

12/10 - “Colonial Candlelight Christmas Service” held at 7:30 PM, at the Historic Monaghan Church (right in back of the Post Office), in Dillsburg. A very special evening, in the beautiful, historic, Monaghan Church, decorated with seasonal greens and candles, to create a truly festive spirit.  The Program will include the reading of the traditional Christmas story, by the Reverend James Richwine, and music by The Dillsburg Brass. The service takes place in the Historic Monaghan Church, on Church Street, in Dillsburg.  After the program, all are invited to follow the Colonial Lamp Carriers to the Dill’s Tavern, where refreshments will be provided in the, newly renovated, historic tavern.  Donations will be used for New Hope Ministries and NYCHAPS programs at the Dill’s Tavern. The event is sponsored by the Dillsburg Revitalization Committee and NYCHAPS.

12/11 - Franklintown Fire Company is holding a Ham Dinner from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Adults $9.00; kids under 12 $4.50.

12/17 - Dillsburg VFW, 23 West Franklin Street is sponsoring a Breakfast with Santa buffet style from 7:30-10:30 am. Cost is $6.00 for adults, children 10 and under are free. This event is open to the public

12/31 - Dillsburg's Pickle Drop - The 19th Annual Dillsburg Pickle Drop begins with a blood drive from 4-8 pm for the Central PA Blood Bank at Citizens' Hose Fire Company. For families with young children and all those who prefer to celebrate early, Mrs. Pickle will perform her drop on stage at 7pm, coinciding with Ireland's midnight, in honor pf Dillsburg's Irish founders. Traditional Baltimore Street fare includes the New Year's Eve Midnight drop of Mr. Pickle, followed by a rousing fireworks display. Donations are especially needed to fund the fireworks display. 12/31 - The Wellsville Fire Company will be hosting a New Years Eve Experience!  Ring in the New Year with dinner and Laughter.  The comedy show will Feature Earl David Reed (105.7 The X), Sonya King, and Tom Sanford.  The doors open at 7:00 pm, dinner (including fruit cup appetizer, fried chicken, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, and applesauce) will be served at 7:30 pm, and the comedy show starts at 9:00 pm.  There will be party favors and pork and sauerkraut at Midnight and dancing until 2 am.  Cost is a $50 donation to benefit the Wellsville Fire Company.  Please call 717-432-5428 (leave a message in the general mailbox) or 717-991-3999 for tickets (admittance to this event is by ticket only and there are a limited number, so call early).  There will also be prizes and raffles throughout the night.  You must be 21 years old or older.
