Information Details:

04/01, 04/08, 04/15, 04/22, 04/29 - Toddler Time at the Library from 10:30 – 11:15 am on Wednesdays. Toddler Time, a new weekly recurring play time for children ages 0-3 with their caregivers, at the Dillsburg Library. No registration is required!

04/02 - LEGO CLUB will meet the first Thursday of each month, for ages 6 years and up. LEGO’s will be provided. Bring your imagination to create masterpieces which will be left on display in the children’s area. No registration is required!

04/04 - Annual Community Egg Hunt at McCurdy’s Tree Farm Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Open to children 0-10 years old; broken down into three sections.  Door prizes, prize eggs and more. Also special section for special needs children.  Hayrides down to prize fields, be there between 11:30 and noon to ride down and get a good spot. Candy for all children.

04/06 - Minecraft Tournament, Monday, April 6, 2015 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Dillsburg Library. It's back! Minecraft lovers have another chance to compete against other players in our second Minecraft Tournament. Each player must bring their own portable device (please remember to charge it) with Minecraft on it (laptops, kindles, tablets, smart phones, it all works!), This tournament is for ages 6-12, with a limit of 30 competitors. 04/07, 04/14, 04/21, 04/28 - Preschool Storytime at the Library at 10:30 am.Storytime will be held at the Dillsburg Area Public Library.  Storytime for all ages (babies – 5) are invited to listen to stories, sing and do a craft each week.  No registration is required.  This is a social time for preschool children and caregivers. 

04/07 - Borrow Library eBooks on your iPad or Android 'Device: Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 7:00 pm - Learn how to download eBooks from the Library. Bring your own iPhone, iPad or Android device. This program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

04/09 - The Tavern Keeper and the Preacher: Both Sides of the Story - Thursday, April 9, 2015, Program begins at 7:00 pm at the Maple Shade Barn. Free to attend, all are welcome. Board member and Distillery Guild member Murray Small will be giving a presentation on the history of spirits and temperance in South Central Pennsylvania. Hear both sides of a fascinating debate that has shaped the history and face of Pennsylvania.

4/10 - First Fridays at Dill Tavern from 7-10 pm (Doors open at 6:30 pm) - This is not an April Fool’s Joke! April's First Friday will be on the second Friday of the month. Enjoy Americana performer Charlie Fry's live music as you socialize with friends and sample refreshments, all amongst the historical ambiance of historic Dill's Tavern and Plantation. Admission for non-members is $10, and guests must be 21 or older. This is a BYOB event.

04/11 - Opening Day for Dillsburg Youth Baseball and Dillsburg Softball is Saturday April 11, 2015.  The annual parade of players begins at 9:00 am starting at the intersection of Baltimore Street and Welty Avenue and continues along Baltimore Street until the players turn at the Ace Hardware Store onto the Krall Field Complex.  After the Opening Day festivities, the games begin with all teams scheduled to play.  Come join the fun and support the youth of our community!

04/12 - Sunday Dinner at the Franklintown Fire Co. firehouse - Sunday April 12, 2015 - Doors open at 11:00 am and close at 1:00 pm - Chicken and filling, Vegetable, mashed potatoes, dinner roll, cake and pie, Soup of the day and all drinks included. - Adults $10.00 Kids under 12 $4.50. Take outs welcomed. We thank you for your support. Franklintown Fire Company is 1 mile south past Northern High school on the right.

04/13 - Goodreads Program: Monday, April 13, 2015 from 7:00-8:00 pm at the Library. Learn how to use Good reads.com to keep track of all of the books you have read and want to read. The website also gives personalized recommendations based on books you have read and liked. You can even use the site to set your yearly reading goal! This program covers making an account, adding books to your shelves, setting your reading goal and more! To register, call the library at 717-432-5613.

04/13 - Quilt Week Workshop: Making a String Quilt: Monday, April 13, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Maple Shade Barn.  As part of Quilt Week 2015, Diane Fitzgibbon will present a workshop on the ins and outs of making a string quilt. Cost is $30 per person.

04/18 - Boy Scout Troop#146 - All-U-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 6:00-10:00 am at the Wellsville Fire Co, 95 Community Street, Wellsville, PA 17365. Only $6.00 person; children under 5 eat free. Breakfast includes, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, orange juice. *Received $1 off you meal when you donate a non-perishable food item being collected for local food banks. **Boy Scouts from ANY troop who shows up in their class A's will receive half off the cost of breakfast.

04/21 - SmartFix 'University: Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Library - Dale Brubaker of SmartFix Center will present SmartFix 101. This program will include information on Wi-Fi, apps, viruses, and PRL. To register please call SmartFix Center at 717-502-6290. This program is free and open to the public.

04/23 - Tech Guru- Don’t be perplexed by that new tech gadget you received. Adam Barton, the Tech Guru from Martin Library, will be at the Dillsburg Library on Thursday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. This is a help session for tablets, smartphones, eReaders and other electronic devices.

04/23 - National Poetry Month Activity: Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:30p.m.-7:30p.m. Join us to celebrate of National Poetry Month! Kiwanis members will be reading poetry as well as running a poetry activity. Children will select a balloon and open the envelope connected to it. Whatever word they find inside will be the topic of the poem!

04/28 - Book Discussion: Me Before You by JoJo Moyes - Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the Dillsburg Library. Join us for a discussion of this compelling, heartbreaking novel. Please call the Library at 717-432-5613 to register.

04/30 - Home Buying - Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:30-7:30 pm. Learn how to calculate how much you can realistically spend on a home. Understand how a lender looks at prospective borrowers and determines how much they might lend and at what rate. Learn the types of loans currently available in the marketplace. This Financial Education Workshop promoted by the Pennsylvania Library Association will be presented by Citizen’s Bank. No registration is required for this free program.
