The relay starts at noon on Friday, June 19th, followed by the official opening ceremonies at 4pm with energizing speeches, emotional ceremonies and inspiring music. Over the course of the next 24-hours, each team’s members will take-turns walking until the event closes on Saturday at noon.  That equates to 1,440 minutes of walking (86,400 seconds!)  We walk all night because CANCER NEVER SLEEPS. All members of the community are invited to join us for the event, even if you are not walking or on a relay team.  There will be many fun activities for both kids and adults throughout including games, music, a car show, a yard sale and plenty of delicious food.  A “Survivors Reception and Celebration” with Luminaria lighting is scheduled for Friday evening.  If you are a cancer survivor and/or caretaker you will not want to miss this beautiful and moving celebration of life.
